HOUSING NAVIGATOR PROGRAM INTAKE FORM AND HOUSING RESOURCES

The NAACP Housing Navigator Program is dedicated to identifying and assisting housing-instable tenants by providing know-your-rights information and helping tenants access critical resources and services. Navigators may also refer tenants to a pro bono attorney, who may be able to help the tenant negotiate with the tenant’s landlord.

If you would like to get help from a Navigator, please complete the intake form below. After you finish this form, a Housing Navigator will contact you as soon as possible to conduct a follow-up interview.

If you have been served with eviction court papers, we strongly urge you to contact SC Legal services for immediate legal help. Complete their online intake form at https://www.lawhelp.org/sc/online-intake or call them at 1-888-346-5592. As a general matter, tenants must request a hearing in order to challenge their eviction proceedings.

Information you give us is confidential and will not be shared with anyone other than the NAACP Housing Navigators staff or participating pro bono attorneys. If your case is referred to a pro bono attorney, s(he) will only represent you in limited negotiations with your landlord, unless otherwise specified by that attorney. The attorney-client relationship ends at the completion of that negotiation and no ongoing relationship will be made between you and any of the Housing Navigators or Pro Bono Attorney, unless otherwise agreed to by you and the Housing Navigators or Pro Bono Attorney.
